Brittany Thornton
Brittany Thornton is a 2012 graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in dance. Under the artistic instruction of Gretchen Studlien-Webb & Elizabeth Staruch, she had the opportunity to perform and choreograph as a member of the University Dance Company during all four years of her undergraduate studies. Annually, she continues to perform and choreograph for West Chester University’s "Alumni Dance Chapter".
As an alumnus of Contempro Dance Theatre, formerly known as Wendy’s Dance Center, Brittany continuously danced from the age of three through her senior year of high school studying various genres. She has had the opportunity to dance competitively and perform in Disney World, all while under the instruction of several of CDT’s current staff members. Upon college graduation in 2012, Brittany began teaching both recreational and competitive classes.
Outside of the dance studio, Brittany has had the pleasure of working and performing at Sesame Place in their Entertainment Department. She also was a part of their leadership team holding various roles that included Stage Manager, Dance Captain, and Assistant Manager of Performers. In addition to performing at the park, Brittany would run auditions, show and parade rehearsals, and would even appear in various special events for the department.
Brittany is very excited to be a part of the Contempro Dance Theatre staff, and to share her passion of dance. She hopes to inspire her students just as her teachers inspired her!"
