Janet Harding
Janet Harding began dancing locally at the age of two and a half and at age fourteen she started traveling to NYC to further her dance training. She started teaching at the age of sixteen and began teaching at Wendy’s Dance Center in 1982.
She is a Post Graduate of Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School at The University of Buffalo, New York, a comprehensive curriculum with a unique focus on technique and training skills and Dance Educators of America Teacher Training School in New York City.
She studied under many well-known choreographers and dancers over the years. She had the unique opportunity to assist the legendary Gene Nelson in teaching a Master Tap Workshop. She choreographed and danced professionally in local theatre performances as well as choreographed many award winning dances on the local, regional and national levels for multiple competitions.
She is proud to say that many of her students have performed in Thanksgiving Day parades, Walt Disney World, The Rockettes, The Nutcracker with members of the Joffrey Ballet, the 1996 Olympic Torch and have gone on to become professional dancers, studio owners, dance instructors and competition directors.
She also founded “Janet’s Dancing Dads” in 1984, which has grown into a prestigious, but fun loving group of dads that perform at the recital to the delight and amazement of their families.
Janet recently became a Certified Dancing Mindfulness Instructor through Mindful Ohio & The Institute for Creative Mindfulness.
